Raditude (Weezer)

Raditude (Weezer) (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version) – Weezer is one of the most popular bands to have lingered around after the post grunge era. Since their triumphant comeback in 2001 Rivers and the boys have really been working on the element of longevity. Experimenting with new sounds and re-vamping their old sound to make sure their fans keep listnening and they can reach greatness. This past decade Weezer has graced us with a whopping 5 albums, but unfortunally the feedback has been bouncing all over the place. no one really knows if they are getting better or worse. Others are trashing Weezer because their albums have not reached Blue or Pinkerton status. Continue reading Raditude (Weezer) (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version)

I Told You I Was Freaky (Flight Of The Conchords)

I Told You I Was Freaky (Flight Of The Conchords) – Jemaine and Bret are geniuses. Enough said. Their music seriously is so witty and smart and it’s impossible not to fall in love with it and them. These two guys are hilarious, and while this album may not hold a candle to the previous, self-titled album it’s far better than anything else out there and well worth the investment. Change is tampering with exceptional achievement in Paramore’s case, but what strikes me about ‘Brand New Eyes’ is that it seems the band wasn’t at all influenced by the raging success and commercialism of `Riot!’. They made the album they wanted to make, and I think striving for quality over fame makes this band special and makes this album exceptional.

The Incident

Music - The Incident - Porcupine Tree

The Incident

The Incident – This album is showing some new direction For Porcupine Tree and a wonderful sort of maturity. There is a wonderful sort of dynamics from screeming lead guitar to subtle Pink Floyd like haunting lyrics. As far as I am concerned this may be their greatest album. The songs are interwoven in a thematic presentation which pushes and pulls at you as you glide through the incredible swings in mood. Continue reading The Incident

Joy

Phish - Joy

Joy

Joy – Joy is fantastic album and a great return to form. It takes the best elements of their earlier albums, but polishes the rough edges and makes for perhaps their most approachable album. It has the feel of their live performances, but the refined quality of a studio. The jam songs have a clear direction and sense of purpose unlike the songs found on Under-mind or Round Room.
